Padkos beta · last updated 28 October 2026
Padkos writes road-trip holiday plans. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell anything about you, and there are no accounts or ads in the beta.
What we use, and why
- Your trip details (where you leave from, where you stay, dates, who's travelling, budget, interests and notes) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to write your plan. Place names from the plan are sent to Google to find each place on Google Maps. We don't keep a copy of your trip details or your plan on our servers.
- A random number for your phone, created by the site and stored on your phone, so we can count your free plans. It isn't linked to your name, number or email.
- A scrambled version of your internet address, kept for two days, to stop one connection using up the free plans meant for everyone.
The free-plan count for your phone is deleted 30 days after your first plan.
What stays on your phone
Your plans, pack-list ticks, spending log and colour setting are saved in your phone's browser storage. Only you can see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Who else is involved
- Anthropic writes the plans. Under its commercial terms it doesn't train its models on what we send.
- Google finds places, and runs Maps and image search when you tap a Map or Photos link.
- Cloudflare hosts the site.
Some of these companies process information outside South Africa.
Please don't include
Don't put ID numbers, phone numbers, addresses of other people, health details or anything private in the notes box. The planner doesn't need them.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or complain to the Information Regulator. Because we don't store your trips and can't link the phone number above to you, there is usually nothing to hand over, but ask and we'll check.
